Well-Being in Harp-Playing
At the centre of the Congress’s well-being offering are the Move Well and Play Better workshops.
This is a daily series of playful interactive workshops for harpists and teachers, exploring how we are structured and how this knowledge helps us to move better, play better, and avoid injury. Using insights from Alexander Technique and Body Mapping, we will answer questions like ‘Is sitting up straight a good idea?’, ‘What and where is my wrist?’ and ‘What is stopping me being a virtuoso?’.
In addition to the workshops, there will be an Alexander Technique demonstration masterclass, problem clinics for harpists and teachers, and presentations on other approaches to well-being in playing.
